Hartland Estate is an adventure lover’s dream come true, as it located on the edge of Sayan River Valley and provides an exciting and surprising venue for a tropical getaway with family and friends. With Javanese wood Joglos as bedrooms, you can be assured that your time here would be as authentically Balinese as it can be. Several spots in the villa offer a remarkable view of the river along with its lush vegetation, the water, and two-acres of sprawling green land. Five individually housed bedrooms offer privacy and comfort to the guests that you can enjoy to your heart’s content.
Outdoor and Pool Area
The river valley forms the frontal view from the Estate’s living areas and the infinity-edge saltwater swimming pool. The pool with its bendy design, is the perfect spot for relaxation as it overlooks the natural vegetation and the river, and is bordered by dense thickets and groves of trees. A truly natural paradise, Hartland Estate offers a tranquil and serene ambiance for guests to find themselves and rediscover the beauty of our natural environment.
Through a meandering pathway, you can reach the organic garden from where the chef picks out the freshest vegetables. A pool house situated atop the pool, is furnished with an alfresco dining area where you can dine in style amidst the foliage and you will also find a bathroom, for you comfort.
Living Area
The estate has been designed in a manner that gives you ample spaces from where you can enjoy the view of the neighboring land and the river valley. In separate locations, you will find sofas, armchairs, daybeds all housed under gazebos that are made from Javanese teakwood. An enchanting bridge across lotus fish ponds will take you to a circular dining pavilion situated in a bale with an alang alang roof. The round table is equipped to seat up to six guests easily, and the open-concept allows you to gaze outdoors at the scenery while you enjoy the delicacies whipped up by the house chef.
You will find huts across the property where you can relax after a long day and enjoy a cup of tea with your loved ones. Adjacent to dining pavilion, there is the modern kitchen, which is ensconced in a similar Javanese-style for an edge to the whole place. It is fully-equipped and offers all the modern amenities of a regular, western-style kitchen. There are meditation pavilions, not one but two, just below the pool, where you can relax and the staff can even arrange for yoga sessions.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is, in fact, a separate bungalow, complete with a bedroom, a private wooden veranda, an en-suite bathroom, and the likes. The Javanese Joglo is handcrafted to create a magical experience for the guests, so they can live like the locals in this beautiful setting. The room is furnished with a canopied, queen-sized bed, made additionally comfortable with plush pillows and mattress. There is a quaint garden bathroom as well, which is fitted with a bathtub and rain-showers along with massage tables.
Guest Bedrooms
There are three bungalows comprising the three bedrooms at Hartland Estate and each of them has its special features. The Java House is made from handcrafted wood and the Teak house is in fact a Gladak, again a traditional Balinese structure and features a veranda and a bathtub in its en-suite. All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and the Marian cottage is also attached to the fifth bedroom, ideal for families. All three cottages have kitchenettes and en-suite garden bathrooms.
Staff and Services
The villa has a dedicated team of employees to look after all your needs including the villa manager who is happy to make arrangements on your behalf be it for excursions around Ubud’s central market area, or river rafting on Ayung river and other adventures. The chef will prepare delicious meals for you with the vegetable picked from the organic garden and the villa has regular maintenance and upkeep.

A mere seven-minute drive to the art and cultural centre of Ubud, Hartland Estate gives you the chance to explore the neighbouring areas without a hassle. For those who wish to experience more of the wellness aspect of Ubud, head down to the popular Yoga Barn for a yoga session. You can walk through Monkey Forest and interact with the monkeys.
