About The Africa House
The Africa House is a villa compound composed of mostly circular pavilions with Alang-Alang or thatch roofing that completely exemplify rustic architecture within an African safari context. Interiors feature weathered, perhaps even genuinely antiquated, comfort and luxury – mostly hefty appointments in solid wood disrupted by classic European furnishings and pieces – as well as the iconic zebra stripes as the recurring design element. With its heavily themed environment, the Africa House, truly, takes you to another place and another time far away from your everyday life where not just relaxation and enjoyment but excitement and adventure, as well, await.
Outdoor And Pool Area
Bordered by lush tropical plants and trees, the villa’s entire outdoor area mirrors a clearing with a body of water deep in the African jungle. At the center is the oval, six-meter swimming pool. Take a dip in its cool, crystal-clear waters. Wade unmindfully. Or make waves of splashy play. For some sun, you can sit on the round bean bags or stretch out on the cushioned, wooden pool beds on the tree-shaded, stone deck.
The Living Area
A circular, spacious, semi-open and high-ceilinged pavilion is devoted exclusively to the living area. The centerpiece is a large, round, wooden antique table surrounded by large, carved wood chairs with zebra-striped cushions as well as by a long couch – all arranged around a widescreen TV. Here, you can all gather in time for new episode of the latest blockbuster series. Or, for you to the relive the most memorable scenes of your best-loved, classic movie. The villa has two dining area options – in a semi-open circular pavilion beside the living area pavilion with a round, wooden table good for six. Or alfresco by the pool under a covered terrace with a long, wooden table that can comfortably seat up to eight. Whatever dining area you choose, you can sample authentic Balinese specialties – as well as international fare – masterfully prepared by the resident chef at the modern kitchen in another pavilion linked by a covered walkway to the living area pavilion. The kitchen has a wooden counter which, provided with stools, can double as a bar where you can also get together for cocktails of after-dinner drinks.
The villa has three separate, circular bedrooms. All have draped, queen-sized beds as well as dedicated bathrooms with dark stone walls that conceal outdoor showers.
Staff And Services
On duty to extend the villa’s day-to-day services is a staff comprising of a housekeeper, a pool attendant, a gardener as well as 24-hour security. In addition to the chef, a babysitter, a driver, a laundry helper and a spa therapist may, upon your request, be called in. However, their services will be charged separately. You can also order room service from nearby Café Bali. A scooter and a car are also available for rent.

The Africa House is located in Seminyak – the hub of tourism in Bali. A five-minute stroll from the villa will take you to the Oberoi District’s Eat Street – a foodie strip with casual to fine-dining restaurants. Notable among these are La Lucciola and Mamasan. Seminyak Beach is also close by. Here, you can swim, surf and catch the magical sunset while chilling at one of the cozy beach cafes.
