The Malabar House is a villa complex composed of three traditional Balinese architectural pavilions, erected amidst Ubud’s rice terraces. Two of the Four bedrooms at the Malabar House villa are master bedrooms and are situated in the main pavilion, and have canopied and draped king-sized beds. They have dedicated semi-open bathrooms with rain showers. Both master bedrooms open out to the garden’s tiered, well-groomed lawn and ponds. The two guest rooms both on the ground floor of the two-storey pavilion and have the luxury of having queen-sized beds and dedicated bathrooms, as well as direct access to the lush garden and swimming pool.
A 14-meter long swimming pool dominates the outdoors at the Malabar House. It is in plain view of the semi-open, airy and high-ceilinged alfresco dining at which guests can have barbecues or a wonderful meal on a breezy Balinese evening. Guests can also take a walk around the villa to take in beautiful sunrises and sunsets, or spread a picnic blanket and open a bottle of wine and look up at the night sky.
The Malabar House has two living areas which are housed in separate villas. The first of these living areas is located in the main villa, and the second is located on the second floor of the two-storey villa. The most attractive features of the living areas is how airy and spacious, and high-ceilinged they are. The living area located at the compound’s two-storey villa also has a scenic balcony that wraps around the entire living area where guests can converge for lively or intimate conversations. Guests will have a 360-degree view of the exquisite and picture-perfect landscape.
Boasting two dining areas, The Malabar House’s indoor dining area can seat eight guests at its timber wood table. Guests can taste authentic Balinese cuisine, the in-house chef will also cook any food the guests may request. For entertainment, the villa has a TV lounge where guests can sit to watch their favourite television series, or even make it a movie night and watch their all-time favourite classic film. The common area of the main pavilion also opens out to a furnished, covered terrace where guests can spend some private time.
The guests staying at the Malabar House villas are attended to by the daily services of the villa’s staff which is headed by a manager and supported by a housekeeper, a swimming pool attendant, a gardener and 24-hour security. A chef, a babysitter, driver, laundry helper and spa therapists may be called upon the guest’s request; which is charged separately. Bike and car rentals are also available to guests of the Malabar House.
The Malabar House is located in Keliki, - a village of artists and painters – within the town of Ubud – Bali’s cultural center. Guests can venture out to the Goa Gajah Elephant Cave, the Puri Saren Royal Palace, the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the Agung Rai Museum of Art, and the Setia Darma House of Masks. If guests feel even more adventurous, they can wander off to the Ubud Monkey Forest, the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, the Campuhan Ridge Walk, the Bali Bird and Reptile Park, and the Tegenungan Waterfall.
