About The Robinson House
Found on Gili Meno, one of the three Gili Islands in Indonesia, The Robinson House is the epitome of beach living with the ocean in its front yard. A sandy outdoors with a private swimming pool and architecture that takes you to the mud houses in charming villages, The Robinson House exudes an old-world splendour with rustic interiors, bamboo walls, thatched-roof pavilions and furniture fashioned out of natural wood. The villa allows you to easily travel to neighbouring islands of Gili Trawangan and Gili Air; the two that complete the Gili triad.
Outdoor and Pool Area
Only a bamboo gate and fencing stands between you and the dazzling, turquoise water of the sea out front. The Robinson Houses prides itself in offering its guests their own slice of paradise with amazing outdoor living. The swimming pool is excavated into the ground for an authentic experience while you have hammocks tied to tree trunks of towering palms to relax on. The outdoors is as much an enigma as is the villa indoors. Thatched-roof pavilions allows shade from the sun so you can rest on the daybed with a book or take a nap. There are sunbeds for sunbathing amidst all this lush scenery overlooking the ocean.
The Robinson House has an alluring quality to its owing to its magical interiors that are teeming with vibrant, earthy colours, hand-crafted wooden furniture, washed-out walls and Moroccan flooring. The sitting area itself is on a raised platform laden with cushioned seats, a vintage coffee table with whimsical lanterns hanging from the ceiling, beaten copper sconces and hand-painted cabinets that speak of times past. The villa may be designed traditionally with an antique vibe but it is equipped with modern conveniences for your ease.
The rustic dining table features wooden stools for seating while the fully-equipped kitchen displays modern appliances built into an age-old structure to keep with the villa theme. Outdoors, you even have a bar with wicker lanterns while the veranda is furnished to perfection with several alfresco dining areas and seating from where you can enjoy gazing at the ocean. The living space is accompanied by several corners of the villa that are great as a private retreat with a lounge chaise or a daybed overlooking the ocean where you can relax undisturbed.
There are four bedrooms at The Robinson House – two are nestled in individual garden bungalows, one is located upstairs and the fourth is found adjacent to the living area. All four bedrooms offer amazing views of the sea and the bamboo walls keep the rooms cool throughout the day. The Queen-sized beds are draped with locally-woven, naturally sourced bedding and linen for a comfortable night’s rest.
There are terraces or a balcony outside the bedroom, so guests can make their way outdoors to enjoy the fresh, tropical breeze anytime they wish. The bedrooms even come with ensuite bathrooms fitted with modern facilities.
Staff and Services
The Robinson House is a pet-friendly, fully-staffed and well-managed villa on the scenic and picturesque island of Gili Meno. Apart from the mesmerising ocean views, the attentive villa staff can arrange for ferries to take you to neighbouring islands. You can request for security service and massages, or rent a kayak and a car to explore the island and its waters. Other services available free of charge include bicycles to ride along the island, BBQ and use of the yoga bale.
