Outdoor and Pool Area
Overlooking the valley surrounded by luscious vegetation is the infinity swimming pool that resides on the lowest level at Villa Awang Awang. You will be able to hear the sounds of nature all around; the river flowing down below, the chirping and tweeting of birds, and the rush of winds across trees. This magical haven is everything you’ve ever wished for with a zen-like ambiance for a truly resplendent experience. The free-size swimming pool leads to a patio or terrace with sun chairs to soak up some tropical sunshine. Statues carved out of stone stand alongside the pool and fountains feed the water.
The living room is as majestic as the rest of the villa and can be reached via steps leading up from the pool deck. The open-concept room is the epitome of culture and heritage featuring striking Dutch-inspired rattan sofas, reclaimed teak-wood furniture like cabinets and tables, fish-trap lanterns, and all this situated under an alang-alang ceiling. Adjoined to the living area is a terrace that provides ample views of the lush nature that surrounds for a refreshing ambiance. For modern conveniences, the living space is equipped with a satellite-TV, old-school VCR, and a DVD player.
Amidst all the natural light and fresh air, you can head on upstairs to reach the subtly-designed dining room. The highlight is the 10-seater dining table that has been restored from a Javanese house along with Dutch rattan chairs for seating. The glass lanterns cast soft lighting across the room while the open terrace brings in a constant flow of cool, tropical breeze. Plug in your iPod to the stereo system and enjoy the mystical tunes float through the surround sound speakers fitted into the room. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with terrazzo countertops, refrigerator, and other modern amenities.
Of the five bedrooms at Villa Awang Awang, the master suite is the largest and most luxurious found on the upper floor with a vaulted alang-alang ceiling, en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower and terrazzo bathtub, and a four-poster, queen-sized bed made out of reclaimed teak-wood. Accessed through Javanese doors, the bedroom even leads to the terrace for a private view of the neighbouring areas.
Two other bedrooms are located next to the master suite; one furnished with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with modern amenities and a bathtub. The final two guest rooms are located on the middle level beside the dining area and are furnished with queen beds.
