A gorgeous and contemporary holiday home, Villa Ipanema has been designed by Dutch designer, Piet Boon. The five-bedroom villa is high on modern aesthetics interwoven with traditional accents. A lavish swimming pool is nestled between lush greenery, and the neighboring rice fields of Canggu make for a great destination to visit to learn more about local life in Bali. Seminyak is a mere 15-minute drive away and Batu Belig beach is only 100 meters from the villa.
Four of the five bedrooms at Villa Ipanema feature king-sized bed and the smallest, fifth room situated behind the bale features a queen-sized bed. Two of the bedrooms are located beside the pool with direct access, and the other two on the upper-floor with spectacular views of the ocean and the rice fields of Canggu. The rooms have been designed to really show the modern aesthetics of the villa along with traditional Balinese artefacts and décor that is found in the rooms. There are artsy brick walls, stone-carved statues, wood-carved vessels and other things. The rooms are air-conditioned and have high-vaulted ceilings.
Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with natural stone bathtubs in an outdoor garden kind of setup for your personal tropical paradise. Rain showers are also fitted into these bathrooms alongside dual basins.
The outdoors at Villa Ipanema is pleasing to the eyes as it has been designed with a well-thought out plan to ensure maximum utilization of tropical foliage and space. An 18-metre swimming pool is ready for you to dive straight in, and it is accompanied by rattan sun chairs with royal blue cushions on top. A daybed with an array of pillows is fitted inside a gazebo at the edge of the swimming pool.
A wooden-plank pathway runs the side of the pool and electric candles line the periphery to create a homely and inviting ambiance. Walled gardens ensure that you have your privacy and security at all times.
Nestled under a high-vaulted alang-alang roof, the main living pavilion is an open-plan structure with a starting section housed under a pergola roof for ample natural lighting. The well-ventilated room is furnished with dark blue L-shaped sofas and hanging lights. The dark wood, blue cushions and white-washed walls all create a luxe vibe in the living area. The sitting area under the pergola is directly facing rich, tropical foliage that not only creates a fresh ambiance, but the vibrant green enhances the beauty of the muted tones of the living area.
The dining area is immediately behind the sitting area and features a handcrafted wooden dining table, a rustic number with eight, wide rattan chairs. Overhead lamps enhance the lighting and the fully-equipped kitchen has natural stone countertops, gray walls and an antique vibe to it. Balinese sculptures and statues as well as a tropical wall can be found in the living area as well. The terrace also offers sitting spaces to guests, so you can enjoy the stunning view as you spend some time surrounded by peace and serenity.
